It’s now T-6 months! Where has the time gone?

To celebrate this milestone, Ravi & I wanted to share our engagement shoot photos from our wedding photographer, Gee! You may remember Gee from our Surprise Party for our Bridal Party post.

Instead of posting all the pics like our Tobermory eShoot, we decided to make a video collage! As you can tell, we had a very tough time choosing which photos we liked the most…Gee is just that talented!

Choosing a concept for the shoot was very difficult. We contemplated on going to a restaurant since we are both foodies, doing an at-home shoot since we both enjoy cooking together, and even stumbled on the idea of us camping. The more we thought about it, the more we realized that not one activity really defined us.

There’s always one photograph or a series of photographs that really triggers the couple to say, “I need to hire this vendor!”. I knew I always wanted to hire Gee, but the moment that reinforced this decision was from one of her style shoots for an engaged couple. That style shoot inspired not only the location of the shoot but also the feel we wanted to captivate.

Since we didn’t really have a concept or theme, we wanted to integrate items that had a great deal of significance to us.

The Wooden Board is the board that Ravi handmade to propose to me. The SUV is where we took 90% of our road trips in and where our relationship really blossomed on an emotional level…try talking to someone for 8hrs straight while driving through a treacherous snow storm and not listening to any music. If there is never a dull moment in your conversation and you arrive safely to your destination, then you have yourself a keeper! The Champagne is our favourite bottle and we got to first experience it together at a friend’s party. Plus, it’s made in Canada! Our Converses were a spur-of-the-moment purchase as we stumbled upon them during our trip to Washington last year to watch the Winter Classic. See…you don’t need a concept, but rather think of the mood you want to set and how you can really personalize the shoot.

Without further ado, enjoy the video! If you want to watch it in glorious HD, click here.

I cannot thank each and every one of the friendors enough for making me feel so special and pampered. I must admit, it was awkward being on the other side of things, but also a refreshing experience. Rhia, if it wasn’t for you, I would have never gotten into the world of makeup. Thank you for taking me under your wing and showing me that you can make a career out of your passion. I can finally say that I got artistrhi-ed ;). Gee, thank you for making 2 very awkward and random people feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Ravi has never been into photos before and these images changed his outlook. Thank you for taking us on as clients and we cannot wait to celebrate with you in 6 months! Ladylyn, you are a hair genius! You taught me so much about my own hair and styled it to perfection! Thank you for welcoming Ravi and I to your new studio space and making me feel so glam! Doris, I don’t know how you produce such wonderful works of art in such a short time span but you are a calligraphy and design master. Thank you for taking on my last minute request and executing what I had in my mind onto the champagne bottle. Ravi already has plans to lacquer up the bottle so we can keep it forever!
