Even though the calendar said it was Spring a few weeks ago, there was still snow on the floor and we were in the minuses. The weather finally hit the double digits today…now I can say that it’s officially Spring! To celebrate this moment, here are my Top 5 Bold & Bright Lipsticks!
These lipsticks are extremely pigmented and glide on so smoothly without feeling drying on the lips. Best of all, is that these lipsticks are under $10 and readily accessible at any drugstore!
1. Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless – $9.95CAD
Rocking this medium-dark tone purple is not for the faint of heart. Matte lipsticks tend to cling onto dry spots, but not this one as it’s infused with shea, mango, and coconut butter! What so great about the crayon shape is that you’re able to apply a precise line without having to use a lip brush. The colour stayed on my lips for a few hours and I didn’t even use a lipliner!
2. Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Whimsical – $9.95CAD
Whimsical is described as a medium-dark pink. Lacquer balm offers high shine, so essentially it’s fool proof upon application. This has to be my favourite formulation and colour as it left my lips feeling well moisturized.
3. NYC CityProof Twistable Intense Lip Color in Ballroom Blush – $4.99CAD
Ballroom Blush is described as a bright medium tone pink and has a medium gloss finish. What I like most about NYC lip products is that it smells like cherries!
4. NYC Expert Last Lipstick in Coralista – $1.99CAD
What kind of lipstick can you buy for less than a toonie? This one! Coralista has the perfect balance of pink and orange. The texture is creamy but make sure your lips are well moisturize as it does have a tendency to cling to a few dry spots.
5. NYC Expert Last lipstick in Red Rapture – $1.99CAD
If you’ve always been intrigued about red lipstick but don’t want to break the bank, this is the lipstick for you! Red Rapture is a vibrant orange based red. It offers a lot of pigmentation and is quite creamy in texture. You will need a lipliner when using this lipstick to ensure it doesn’t travel.
