About three months ago, I posted my wishlist for the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) in Toronto.  If you follow me on Instagram, you will already know how much my wallet cried after IMATS.

So let’s begin with zee damage!

I am a strong advocate for Bdellium Tools as their brushes perform like a dream and won’t cause you to break the bank!  Definitely the best of both worlds!  So I had to visit this booth first and stock up on some essentials:
BDELLIUM TOOLS Studio 762 Small Angle Brush – $5CAD (Reg $8US)

BDELLIUM TOOLS Studio 776 Blending Brush –  $5CAD (Reg $9US)

BDELLIUM TOOLS Pink Bambu 776 Blending Brush –  $5CAD (Reg $9US)

BDELLIUM TOOLS Pink Bambu 964 All Purpose Blusher Brush – $9CAD (Reg $17US)

BDELLIUM TOOLS Pink Bambu 948 Foundation Brush – $9CAD (Reg $15US)

KETT Hydro Foundation in O3 & O5 – $47CAD (Reg $60US)
You can read my mini review here.

KETT Hydro Proof Trial Packs – in Ruby & Olive – $70CAD (Reg $100US)
I’m not a huge fan of silicone formulations and wanted a foundation that can last for super oily or sweaty individuals.  After conversing with Sheila McKenna, Kett Cosmetics creator & airbrush guru, she introduced me to the Hydro Proof line.  It is alcohol based and completely safe to use on the face and will last through sweat, tears, rubbing, and anything in between.  Sheila even demonstrated using this product on one of her artists.

KETT 0.4mm Airbrush – $95CAD (Reg $90US)
Alcohol molecules are bigger than water molecules. So I couldn’t use my normal 0.25mm Airbrush Gun for Hydro Proof foundations. Instead I had to purchase a separate 0.4mm gun.

FACE ATELIER Face Finish – $20CAD (Reg $26CAD)
Heard really good things about this setting spray and had to buy it to try it out!

FACE ATELIER Ultra Matte – Gifted Sample
The sales rep was kind enough to gift me this. She says for individuals that find the Face Atelier Ultra Foundations too dewy, this spray will matte it down. Note that this is a silicone based setting spray.

FACE ATELIER Ultra Foundation Pro in #4 – $16CAD (Reg $34CAD)

FACE ATELIER Transforming Gel – $16CAD (Reg $26CAD)

MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Foundations – $150CAD for 5 foundations or $33CAD for 1 (Reg $49CAD per Bottle)

IMG_3979

GRAFTOBIAN Hi-Def Glamour Creme Super Palettes in Warm & Cool – $75CAD each (Reg $79CAD)

IMG_3980

MINKED LASHES in Mila – $20CAD for two pairs (Reg $16CAD)
Will definitely talk about my experience with Minked Lashes in an upcoming post!

Had to stock up on some kit essentials!
NIGEL 25 Disposable Mascara Wands – $2.50 each

ALCONE 24 Disposable Lip Brushes – $3CAD (Reg $5US)

IMG_4002

CLEAN Organic Goat’s Milk Brush Shampoo (4 oz. Unscented) – $18.08CAD (Reg $20CAD)

BEAUTYSOCLEAN Cosmetic Sanitizer Mist – $20CAD (Reg $25CAD)

From talking to a few makeup artists, they highly recommended these products to condense their kit. Foundations are usually the heaviest items. So I use the syringes to decant my newly purchased Make Up For Ever HD Foundations into these tubes.
YABY Liquid Travel Pack – $16.95CAD (Reg $22.25CAD)

YABY Empty Tubes – $5.65CAD (Reg $6.95CAD)

MAC Large Brush Canister – $20.25CAD (Reg $30CAD)
Unfortunately the discount at the show was 20% for attendees. Luckily I had my PRO Card which gave me 40% off.

CROWN Pro Spoolie – $2.50CAD
Had to stock up on this essential! Great for blending powder and pencil into the eyebrows.

Apologies for being super tardy with this post.  But hope it was worth the wait!  As you can see, most booths did offer a discount on their products and the amount discounted ended up being greater than the ticket price.  So definitely worth coming to IMATS this year!

If you went to IMATS Toronto this year, what were some of your buys?
